A new, innovative pilot program is being introduced by CCC in October. The Traveling Closet is a partnership with the Oshkosh Area School District and supported by (list funders here). The Traveling Closet will serve Oshkosh students of all ages referred by school counselors who need new functional and warm clothing, outerwear, boots and gym shoes during the school year. Monthly distribution events will provide approximately 7,600 articles of clothing, 400 pairs of shoes and 900 bedding items.
Cool for School was hosted in mid-August and over 3,600 articles of clothing and shoes were provided to 356 young scholars. “I can’t wait for the first day of school” was heard often by volunteers who helped kids shop for new pants, tops, athletic shoes, socks and underwear. All this is possible because of our caring community partners and amazing volunteers. A special thank you to our sponsors: Appleton Rotary Foundation Service Fund, Pitney Bowes, TJX Foundation Inc., Water-Right Charitable Fund, First Presbyterian Church Bergstrom Grant, Memorial Presbyterian Church and Menasha Utilities.
